Goals & Priorities
Working with me will feel easy and fun, but there’s real science behind what I do. My organizing and productivity model integrates an Executive Function approach, which is a fancy way to say I help people think and act effectively. Each of my clients gets a strategy that works especially for how they think. That strategy covers:
- getting over the hurdle of starting
- figuring out what and how to get things done, and
- keeping it how you would like it with the least time and effort.
My clients tell me that they are happiest with finally being able to clear out their clutter, make their space how they really want it, manage their ongoing tasks, and most of all, reduce their stress. If you’re ready to work together, please contact me to talk.
How the Process Works
Step 1: Request a complimentary 30-minute needs assessment telephone call
Our initial interaction starts off with a complimentary 30-minute needs assessment telephone chat. We will discuss how you feel about getting organized, the areas you would like to address (e.g., rooms/spaces, family management, paper management, time management), and what you would like to accomplish.
Step 2: Schedule an on-site organizing session
We then schedule an on-site organizing session. I ask that you do not tidy up or organize before the session. What I see in your home/office provides me with visual clues as to how to customize and organize your space and time for maximum efficiency.
Step 3: Meet up for an on-site organizing session
Since we would have already chatted about your organizing goals and challenges during the needs assessment telephone call, we can jump right in and start organizing. I ask that you be present during all organizing sessions. This constant interaction helps me understand the stumbling blocks you may have in the organizing process. A detailed understanding of your situation means that I can provide you with the best support and assistance for your unique needs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will you insist that I throw everything out?
Absolutely not. Every decision is a decision you make based on what you wish to accomplish. As we work together during the on-site organizing sessions, I’ll be there to guide and remind you of your goals, but the ultimate decisions and choices about what you want to keep are always yours.
How long is it going to take?
The length of time it takes to organize a space depends on how quickly you are able to make decisions about your stuff. It also depends on the size of the space and the state it is in.
What will you be doing during the organizing sessions?
I am there to help, guide, and assist you in making decisions that reflect the home and life you wish to lead. Sometimes people just get overwhelmed and when this happens, my role is to coach, encourage, and motivate. In addition, I provide options and solutions. I am not going to be kicking back and making you do all the work. It’s a team effort.
I am embarrassed about all my stuff. Should I tidy up before we meet?
Please do not tidy up. I need to see how you live on a daily basis so that we can identify your organizing needs together, streamline organizing and time-management systems, and possibly set up new ones to meet your specific needs. I am here to help you. I am not in your home/office to judge you. This is the advantage of working with me. I have no emotional attachment to the items in your home/office. Your success is my success and I am here to provide you with the best support for your current situation.
Are you going to take “Before” and “After” photos?
With your permission, I take Before and After photos as references for the projects we work on. The photos provide me with visuals of what you have in your home/office and how we can reuse and repurpose furniture and other items. It also helps me with space planning. The photos are a visual documentation of the work we have done together.
I am worried my life will return to its former state after I’ve worked with you.
It is not uncommon to worry about falling back into old habits. However, if you are open to making changes, the key to your success is your motivation to get organized and steady maintenance.
